From Overwhelmed to Organised: Why I Started Book The Trip

Planning a holiday should be exciting. It should be the fun part, imagining yourself sipping cocktails by the pool, wandering through little European villages, or making memories with your family.

But somewhere along the way, planning a holiday became overwhelming. One minute you're excited, the next you've got 37 browser tabs open, you're comparing hundreds of hotels, reading conflicting reviews, watching flight prices change by the hour, and wondering if you're making the right decisions.

I see it all the time. That's exactly why I started Book The Trip.

I wanted to create a travel planning service that takes the stress out of organising a holiday, so my clients can actually enjoy the experience from the moment they decide to travel.

Why planning a holiday feels harder than ever

Planning a trip isn't just about booking a flight and a hotel anymore.

There are flights to compare, accommodation to choose, transfers to organise, tours to

consider, travel insurance, entry requirements, budgets, and all the little details that can make or break a holiday. If you're juggling work, kids, school commitments and everyday life, it's easy to see why so

many people put it off altogether. Most people don't need more websites to search. They need someone they trust to narrow down the options, make recommendations, and take care of the details.

That's where I come in.

Why I came back to travel

Travel has always been my passion.

After working in the travel industry for many years, I stepped away for a decade to raise my two children. When I returned in 2021, I quickly realised just how much had changed. There were more booking websites, more information, more reviews and more choices than ever before.

Ironically, all those choices weren't making travel planning easier. They were making it harder. People weren't looking for someone to simply book a holiday. They were looking for someone who could guide them, simplify the process, and help them feel confident they were making the right decisions.

That's when Book The Trip was born.

More than just booking a holiday

Book The Trip isn't about finding the cheapest deal.

It's about creating the right trip for the right people. Every client is different. Some are planning a once in a lifetime European adventure. Others are organising a family holiday that has to work around school holidays, teenagers, grandparents and everyone's wish list.Some simply don't have the time to spend hours researching.

That's why I take the time to get to know my clients before I recommend anything. I want to understand how you like to travel, what matters most to you, and what's going to make this holiday truly memorable.

It's about taking away the overwhelm. My clients still make the decisions. I simply make those decisions easier.

Why I love what I do

One of my favourite parts of this job is hearing from clients when they get home.

I love hearing about the little café they stumbled across in Italy, the incredible safari they never wanted to end, or the resort their kids are already asking to go back to. Knowing I've helped create those memories never gets old.
